The Construtivista chair with versions in Brazilian rosewood and mahogany, combined with straw backrests, uses material from the recycling of furniture. In an interview with architect Tatiana Sakurai (2009), Almeida emphasized that he works – (…) against the flow of the culture for industrial design – and believes tha – this is one of the characteristics of Brazilian art and design -. For him, – Brazilian culture is born of the impasse, of the creative gap that exists between not knowing how to do something and having to do it. I think we are not a technical culture and the good thing about that is that we don’t copy things properly… . – Maria Cecilia Loschiavo dos Santos, Olhares, page 244
